Private on-device checker
Check image resolution before you print.
Select a JPEG, PNG, or WebP to see its exact pixel dimensions, megapixel count, and estimated physical size at 150 and 300 DPI. Your file stays in your browser.
Choose an image
The checker reads pixel width and height. It does not read embedded DPI metadata or judge sharpness and print color.
Reading the result
Pixel count is the starting point, not a print guarantee.
What the pixel dimensions mean
Width and height describe how many image pixels are available. Multiplying them gives total pixels; dividing by one million gives megapixels. More pixels provide more room for a physical print, but only when the source detail is actually present.
Estimated print size
The estimated sizes divide each dimension by 150 or 300. A 3000×4500 pixel image is approximately 10×15 inches at 300 DPI and 20×30 inches at 150 DPI.
What still needs checking
Confirm the printer's required DPI, bleed, color profile, file format, transparency, and crop. Inspect text, logos, faces, and edges at 100% zoom before using a file commercially.
Resolution FAQ
Know what was checked.
Is my image uploaded for the resolution check?
No. The image is decoded and measured locally in your browser. ImageBig does not receive the selected file.
Does the checker read DPI metadata?
No. It reads pixel width and height, then estimates physical size at 150 and 300 DPI. Embedded DPI metadata and printer requirements are separate checks.
Can a high-resolution image still print badly?
Yes. Blur, motion, compression, incorrect color, transparency artifacts, and missing bleed can affect print quality even when the pixel count is high.
Need more pixels?
Run the image through ImageBig's free on-device preview, then check the actual print target before production.
