Design import planner
Plan a Canva import before it looks soft.
Size before import
A canvas can be larger than the reusable image.
Canva scales the frame, not the source
A 1080 or 1920 pixel canvas does not add source detail. If an image must fill the whole design, both its width and height need enough pixels for the intended crop. A small image can still work as an inset or background layer.
The free preview has a hard edge
ImageBig applies the ESRGAN 2× model but caps the free output at 2048 pixels on the longest edge. The planner applies that same cap before comparing the result with the selected target.
PNG is convenient, not automatically production-ready
The downloaded preview is a standard PNG. Canva may accept it while the print supplier still rejects its resolution, color, bleed, or edge quality. Review the print workflow when the design is destined for a physical product.
Import checklist
Keep the source honest when it reaches the canvas.
- Choose the intended crop before creating the AI preview.
- Compare text, product labels, faces, and logo edges at 100%.
- Keep the original image alongside the enlarged version.
- Confirm the current Canva upload limit for your account.
- Use a printer-approved production path for large physical output.
ImageBig is an independent browser tool. Project dimensions can change, and the planner does not check account limits, color profiles, bleed, or export settings.
Canva FAQ
Plan the import realistically.
Can I import an ImageBig PNG into Canva?
ImageBig downloads a standard PNG preview. Whether it can be imported depends on the file, account, and current Canva upload rules.
Is a 2048 pixel preview enough for every Canva design?
No. It can cover many social and presentation layouts, but it is below common large print targets. The planner shows when the source or free preview is insufficient.
Does the planner guarantee Canva upload success?
No. The planner compares pixel dimensions only. Canva can change plan limits and project requirements, so verify the current upload rules in Canva.
Enough pixels for the design?
If the planner shows the free preview can cover the target, create it locally and inspect the result before importing.
